Is there any fairy tale more gay than Cinderella? It's a story about someone who longs to be loved by a person who will never accept them because of who they are and the insurmountable differences in their lives. Yet miraculously Cinderella gets a chance to meet the object of her dreams. He falls in love with her, searches her out and accepts her just the way she is. As gay men we may lust after men we think will never accept us, but sometimes, miraculously, when they get to know us, they do.

Putting this story into the modern venacular of a high school prom just serves to emphasize the parallels. And in case you didn't think of it before -- the name Charlie is a riff on char which is kind of like cinder...
